Mr. Lingbo

Piano Instructor

Lingbo Tan is a pianist and piano educator who works with students of all ages and levels. His teaching combines healthy technique, thoughtful practice, musical understanding, and artistic expression to help each student grow into a confident and independent musician.

A Little About Mr. Lingbo

Lingbo holds a Master’s degree from Longy School of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from Sichuan Conservatory of Music. He is currently pursuing a Graduate Performance Diploma in Piano Performance at Longy School of Music, where he studies with Professor Gila Goldstein.

Throughout his musical training, Lingbo has studied with internationally recognized pianists and pedagogues including Yudi Ouyang, Jie He, Shanshan Liu, Yaron Kohlberg, Christopher Guzman, and Steven Spooner, receiving extensive training in both solo and chamber music.

An Active Performer

Alongside his teaching, Lingbo remains an active pianist in both solo and chamber music.

He has performed in the United States, Europe, and China, bringing extensive performance and collaborative experience into his work with students. He also remains committed to engaging with the community through music.

His Teaching Approach

Lingbo believes that healthy technique and thoughtful practice are essential for lifelong musical growth.

Rather than taking the same approach with every student, he designs individualized lessons around each student’s needs and development. His teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, effective practice habits, musical expression, and solid music literacy.

Through this balanced approach, Lingbo helps students develop not only technical skills at the piano, but also the artistic confidence to understand and express the music they play.

As a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Lingbo is committed to maintaining high professional standards in his teaching.
